It’s a skill ... and I teach it.

My story

I left school in Salford, Manchester at 16 and got my first job at Homebase. Not long after, I joined the Co-operative Bank as a debt resolution supervisor,  helping individuals and families find a way out of debt, at an age when most people are still figuring out their own finances.

I went on to train as a primary school teacher, holding down my bank job part-time while I did it, then taught in the UK before moving to Dubai in 2017.

I’ve always been interested in money. My dad, who was self-taught too, helped me start investing early on. When COVID hit, I got serious: I taught myself everything I could about markets and money, then studied for my CISI qualification in International Investment & Wealth Management.

That’s when I launched my business first as The Money Savvy Expat, now Natalie Walsh Wealth. I left teaching in 2025 and now work as a Talent Acquisition Partner for a global B2B events company, a role that takes me all over the world, alongside running this business.

None of this would have been possible if I hadn’t taught myself how money works. When I left teaching with no backup plan, it was the money I’d quietly invested that let me take the leap.

Money gives you options. It gives you freedom. It gives you the ability to walk away from a relationship or a job that isn’t right for you. That’s what this work is really about - helping you build financial independence, on your terms.
